A fire broke out on Tuesday morning at the radiology department of Sion Hospital in Mumbai after an air-conditioning unit exploded around 11:57 AM, officials reported.
The blast occurred in a ground-floor room near the main outpatient department, producing thick smoke that quickly spread in the area. Hospital staff immediately evacuated all patients from the radiology section, ensuring there were no casualties.
Firefighters, police, and hospital personnel responded promptly and brought the blaze under control. According to hospital superintendent Dr. Pramod Ingle, no one was injured in the incident.
Although the explosion caused temporary disruption, the swift response of emergency teams restored normalcy, preventing any major damage or harm.
