The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a 24-hour maintenance and repair operation on the 2,400 mm diameter Vaitarna water pipeline to strengthen Mumbai's water distribution system.

The work will be carried out from 10:00 AM on August 11 to 10:00 AM on August 12, affecting water supply in several areas of the K-East and H-East wards.

K-East Ward: Low-Pressure Water Supply Schedule

Date: August 11

Time: 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM

Residents in the following areas will experience low water pressure:

  • Kabir Nagar
  • Bamanwada
  • Parsiwada
  • Airport area
  • Tarun Bharat Colony
  • Islampura
  • Deulwadi
  • Fish Market
  • Ghatiwada
  • Chakala
  • P&T Colony

Time: 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM

Low-pressure water supply is expected in:

  • Koldongri
  • Old Police Lane
  • Vijay Nagar (Sahar Road)
  • Mograpada

Date: August 12

Time: 5:00 AM to 8:00 AM

Low-pressure water supply will continue in:

  • Sahar Village
  • Sutar Pakhadi
  • Cargo Complex

H-East Ward: Water Supply to Remain Suspended

August 11

Water supply will be completely suspended in the following areas:

  • Domestic Airport
  • Hangar Staff Colony
  • Air India Colony
  • Santacruz (East)
  • Bandra Terminus
  • Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC)

August 12

Water supply will remain completely suspended across the H-East ward, including:

  • Santacruz (East)
  • Khar (East)
  • Bandra (East)

BMC Advisory for Residents

The BMC has urged residents in the affected areas to:

  • Store sufficient water in advance.
  • Use water sparingly during the maintenance period.
  • Boil and filter drinking water as a precaution for the next few days.
  • Cooperate with civic authorities while the maintenance work is underway.

The civic body stated that the maintenance is essential to improve the reliability and efficiency of Mumbai's water supply network and has requested citizens to plan accordingly to minimise inconvenience.
