On the occasion of the centenary year of KEM Hospital, renowned singer Padma Shri Dr. Anuradha Paudwal donated a state-of-the-art life-saving system (ventilator) for the hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) on Monday. This will benefit newborns born in critical conditions at KEM Hospital.
The latest life support system equipment was introduced in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at KEM Hospital in 2017. However, since it was now outdated, a new life support system was required. After informing Anuradha Paudwal about this, she made the life-saving system available to KEM Hospital in just four days through her charitable organisation 'Suryodaya Foundation'.
This system was brought to Mumbai from Bangalore. The cost of this life-saving system is approximately INR 30 lakh. The newly introduced life-saving system in the hospital will be crucial for premature babies. Dr. Sangeeta Rawat, Dean of KEM Hospital, informed that this system will help reduce the infant mortality rate.
