Mumbai Traffic Police has announced major traffic changes and restrictions in central Mumbai. These restrictions have been imposed due to repair and concreting work on Sant Namdev Maharaj Flyover (Parel TT Flyover) and Hindmata Flyover.
The order has been issued by Prashant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Traffic (South) under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. These decisions have been taken for public safety and to maintain smooth flow of traffic.
Phase 1: Northbound closure
All traffic on the northbound side of Sant Namdev Maharaj Flyover and Hindmata Flyover will remain closed for 24 hours from March 9, 2026, to April 15, 2026.
Alternate route:
Vehicles going to Dadar from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Road should use the slip road at Parel TT and Hindmata.
Traffic will be diverted to the southbound lane from 4 pm to 10 pm and released back to the northbound lane at Hindmata.
Vehicles heading towards Byculla will be allowed to use the southbound lane and slip road from 7 am to 4 pm.
Only the slip road will be allowed after 4 pm.
Phase 2: Southbound closure
All traffic on the southbound lane of Sant Namdev Maharaj Flyover and Hindmata Flyover will remain closed for 24 hours from 16 April 2026 to 31 May 2026.
Alternate route:
Traffic from Dr. Ambedkar Road to Byculla from 7 am to 4 pm will be diverted to the northbound lane and slip road. All traffic after 4 pm will be diverted to the slip road only.
Traffic heading towards Dadar will be diverted to the slip road during the day and to the northbound lane after 4 pm.
The administration has appealed to citizens to use alternative routes as this work may cause delays in their travel
