To increase security at the premises at the entrances of its Vidyanagari premises, Mumbai University has introduced a 'Boom Barrier System', as per the report by Mid Day. From July 31, only vehicles with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) stickers will be allowed entry at the premises.

The system was officially inaugurated by Mumbai University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ravindra Kulkarni, in the presence of Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ajay Bhamre, Registrar Dr. Prasad Karande, Finance and Accounts Officer CA Harshal Wagh, Security Officers Balasaheb Kharat and Kiran Vasave, along with other dignitaries, the statement said.
