The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced 15 per cent water cut in several parts of the city from March 27 to March 29.

The water supply cut will be effective from tonight 10 pm until on March 29, 10 pm, in most areas of Eastern Suburbs.

According to the civic body, water leakage in two water channels near Mulund have been reported and its repairs are underway.

In an official statement, the BMC stated: "During the construction work of box culvert, by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) at Hari Om Nagar, near Mulund Octroi Naka, Eastern Express Highway, it was reported today (27th March 2023) that the 2,345 mm. dia'Mumbai-2' water main which supplies water from Pise-Panjarapur treatment plant Complex, has been damaged. The work of repairing the leakage of this water main has been taken up immediately."

Explaining further, BMC stated that citizens of the concerned localities are requested to keep the required water supply during the above mentioned period. Also, a request is being made on behalf of the civic body administration to cooperate in using water sparingly during the period of reduction.

Following areas that will face water cuts in Eastern Suburbs and city divisions:

Eastern Suburbs:

T Division: Mulund (East) and (West) Divisions

S Division: Eastern Division at Bhandup, Nahoor, Kanjurmarg, Vikhroli.

N Section: (East) and (West) Sections at Vikhroli, Ghatkopar

L Division: Kurla (East) Division

M/East Division: Entire Division

M/West Division: Entire Division

City Division:

A Section: Entire Section

B Section: Entire Section

Section E: Entire section

F/South Division: Entire Division

F/North Division: Whole Division
