On behalf of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), a special toilet for transgender has been constructed at Kopri village. This is the fourth initiative in the state and the first in the city, after Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur, now this toilet has been constructed in Navi Mumbai city.

In India, transgender are seen from a different perspective. So they have to face many difficulties while fulfilling their basic needs in social life. But in the year 2014, the Supreme Court recognised transgender. Hence, they have the same right to all basic and public facilities as other groups. Even so, transgender still have to resort to men's toilets in public places.

But in the men's toilet, they face harassment. Therefore, there was a demand for a separate toilet for transgenders. Considering this demand, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation has constructed a special toilet for transgenders in Kopri village. Around 70 to 75 transgenders live in this place. Therefore, Sangeeta Pujari has expressed her satisfaction with the construction of this special toilet by the Municipal Corporation.
