CIDCO has issued an Expression of Interest to develop and operate India’s first large-capacity multi-purpose indoor live entertainment arena. The submission window will remain open until 5 p.m. on December 30. The EOI document will be available online from December 9.
This can make Navi Mumbai a major destination for global events. The proposed arena is inspired by world-famous venues such as The O₂ in London and Madison Square Garden in New York.
The location will be designed to host concerts, international sports events, cultural festivals, immersive shows, and other large entertainment productions. The venue will offer seating for 20,000 people and standing space for up to 25,000 more. As per reports, officials highlighted that Navi Mumbai is well suited for such a large venue because of its fast-growing infrastructure and strong connectivity.
The project will help push cultural and economic progress in the region. It will also create new opportunities for artists and businesses and bring top-quality experiences to audiences in India. The arena would create jobs, draw tourists, support related industries, and help establish Navi Mumbai as the leading hub for live entertainment and international events in India.
As per sources, CIDCO is also planning to team up with top domestic and international industry stakeholders. Navi Mumbai’s other innovations include the Nerul Jetty, the Centre of Excellence in Kharghar, the Kharghar Valley Golf Course, and future Medi City, Edu City, and Aero City projects.
