Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule launched a new online facility for property owners in Mumbai on Wednesday, March 18. The platform will let users carry out name transfers and make changes to land records without visiting government offices.

The system has 45 types of property-related transactions, which can be completed online. These include changes linked to lease agreements, mortgage registrations, inheritance cases, gift deeds, and purchase deeds. It also covers technical updates such as road setbacks, land reservations, and land purchase categories.

The platform was developed by the National Informatics Centre in Pune. It is directly integrated with the Mahabhoomi application of the Settlement Commissioner. With its launch, users can submit requests remotely and complete the process online.

The system also provides global access for individuals living outside Mumbai or abroad. Applicants receive SMS alerts at different stages of the process. They can also track the status of their applications online in real time. Furthermore, applicants facing issues with the online system can approach the assistance desk at the Mumbai City Collector’s office.

The portal supports a wide range of property-related activities. These include buying and selling property through sale deeds, acquiring property from family members, handling mortgages, making gift transfers, and managing land leases. The initiative is part of the plan to modernise the city’s administrative system
