Owing to repair works undertaken by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the Parel TT flyover will remain closed for the vehicular movement from 11 pm to 6 am, announced Mumbai Traffic Police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Traffic Police (South) Gaurav Singh has issued a notification in this regard and stated that the restriction shall remain till place May 20 to prevent any danger or obstruction for people.

“In view of the proposed repair work of Parel TT flyover bridge and in order to facilitate smooth flow of traffic and for the safety of the people following traffic regulations will be made effective from 10/05/2023 at 00:01 am till dt. 20/05/2023 for 23:00 hrs to 0600 hrs,” an official statement issued by the traffic police noted.

Located near Dadar, this bridge is a major connector for the south and central parts of the city. The traffic administration has suggested two alternative routes for motorists. Northbound traffic heading towards Dadar TT and Dr BA Road will be diverted to Paral TT Bridge and Hindmata Bridge slip road. Similarly, southbound traffic going towards Byculla, Dr BA Road will also pass through this slip road.

As the timing of the closure does not coincide with the night and morning peak hours, traffic is likely to be affected less, officials said, adding that additional traffic police have been deployed on the bridge for better traffic management and assistance to commuters.

However, the traffic department has allotted alternate routes for the convivence of motorists.

1. Traffic moving towards Dadar TT from the northbound Dr BA Road will go through the slip road of the Parel TT bridge and the slip road of Hindmata Bridge.

2. Similarly, traffic moving towards Byculla from the southbound Dr BA Road will go through the slip road of Hindmata bridge and the slip road of Parel TT bridge.
