Residents living in Sector 8 in Charkop have been drinking contaminated water for over a week now. Nearly 30 residents in Charkop have been reported to be ill due to the same. Residents here have complained of drinking black stinking water and are no sacred that the situation might get worse.
One of the civic officials said that they know about the black water and are trying their best to find out the root cause. He added that in order to get rid of stinking water, they flushed out the entire pipeline but the problem still persisted. He further said that they will be carrying out fresh checks on Saturday as well.

Corporator Sandhya Doshi said that the locality had been facing the problem since monsoon. She said that she has informed ward officials to solve the problem and added that if the problem still continues, then the citizens would come out on streets and protest.
