Mumbai: Petrol Diesel Prices Remain Unchanged Today; Jet Fuel Rates Reach All-Time High

After a hike in the fuel rates for the nine consecutive days, the petrol and diesel prices remains unchanged today, April 1. Prior to the second pause in 11 days, auto fuel rates had gone up by INR 6.40 per litre.

In Mumbai, the petrol and diesel is being sold at INR 116.72 and INR 100.94 per litre (increased by 84 paise on March 31). With this, the financial capital city sells the most expensive fuel amongst the metro cities.

On the other hand, jet fuel prices were hiked by 2 per cent, which is the seventh straight increase this year, that begun on January 1. Following which, ATF prices have been increased by INR 38,902.92 kl or almost 50 per cent.

ATF prices have increased every fortnight since the start of 2022.

According to a notification, aviation turbine fuel (ATF) was hiked by INR 2,258.54 per kiloliter (kl), or 2 per cent, to INR 1,12,924.83 per kl in the national capital.

The increase in ATF price comes on back of the steepest ever hike 18.3 per cent (INR 17,135.63 per kl) effected on March 16.

For those unversed, jet fuel prices are revised on the 1st and 16th of every month based on the average international price of benchmark fuel in the preceding fortnight.
