The Central Government has implemented the new pension scheme since 2004. However, retired employees have been hit the most by this scheme. The central government had promised the employees that a few lakh rupees would be recovered in lump sum, however, this has failed.

Therefore, the employees have started a hunger strike demanding the Central Government to immediately re-implement the old pension scheme. Railway employees also protested at CSMT on Thursday.
