Over the last few days, residents from Mumbai's Dadar and Mahim areas have complained about snakes being found n the public places, and this has raised concerns among the people living in the neighbourhood. A few days back, residents spotted a 4.5-foot venomous snake at Dadar's Shivaji Park area, and a similar incident was reported on Tuesday, October 20, where a python was found in the Reti Bunder area near Mahim's Causeway.
The information was shared by Atul Kamble who said that the snake was caught in a fishnet around 7.09 am on Tuesday.
Upon receiving the information, some residents informed the Wildlife Animal Protection Rescue Association (W.A.P.R.A) in the morning, who then arrived to control the situation. Reports state that officials rushed to the spot and rescued the snake, with the help of some members from the Koli community who are the residents of the area.
According to the information received, they assume that the snake might have come out of the water due to the tide, which was reported a night before. Officials confirmed that it was 8 feet long and non-venomous, and is one of the largest found in India. It is said that this species of snake can grow up to 18 to 22 feet in length.
