Byculla - State industries minister and guardian minister of Mumbai, Subhash Desai inspected the modernisation works being undertaken at the Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Garden and Zoo (Byculla Zoo) on Monday.
Desai was apprised about the modernisation works by additional municipal commissioner Sanjay Deshmukh, who accompanied him. He was also shown the development works undertaken near the zoo gate, the quarantine area where the Humboldt penguins are being kept, the interpretation centre building and the area where the penguins will be exhibited. Desai expressed satisfaction over the work and instructed the officials concerned to complete the work within the stipulated timeframe.
