Hundreds of commuters travelling on a Central Railway AC local train faced a harrowing journey on Monday morning after the train's air-conditioning system failed due to a technical snag, leaving passengers struggling in suffocating conditions during the peak-hour commute. The train was later terminated at Kurla station and the affected rake was withdrawn for repairs.

The incident involved an AC local running from Kalyan to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT). Commuters reported that the AC system stopped working between Mulund and Kurla, leading to a rise in temperature inside the crowded coaches. Passengers complained of inadequate ventilation and discomfort as the train continued towards its destination.

Following the issue, railway authorities terminated the service at Kurla station and removed the affected rake from operation. The train was sent to the car shed for detailed inspection and necessary repairs, while officials began examining the cause of the technical failure.

No casualties were reported in the incident; however, the disruption has raised concerns among commuters regarding the dependability of AC local train services, especially during crowded peak-hour journeys.
