The road opening (median gap) near the Raymond company entrance on Pokhran Road 1, commonly known as the Raymond cut, has been closed on a trial basis for 30 days to reduce traffic congestion.

The closure affects vehicles travelling between Cadbury Junction and Vartak Nagar Chowk. Vehicles that previously used this opening to turn or cross the road will now have to use alternative turning points.

Vehicles travelling from Cadbury Junction and Samta Nagar towards Vartak Nagar will have to take a turn near Vartak Nagar, while vehicles travelling from Raymond towards Vartak Nagar will have to use the turn near Singhania School.

Parking has also been banned on both sides of the road for around 700 metres between Vartak Nagar Naka and Cadbury Junction.

The traffic police will observe the impact of the changes during the 30-day trial period. The aim is to ease congestion, especially during peak hours. (loksatta.com)
