The Thane City Traffic Police has issued a traffic control notification ahead of girder erection work for a foot overbridge near Brahmand Junction on Ghodbunder Road.
According to the order issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pankaj Shirsat, the work will be carried out in phases from 11:55 PM on May 8 to 11:55 PM on May 9, and again from 11:55 PM on May 9 to 6:00 AM on May 10. Traffic restrictions have been imposed during this period to prevent congestion and ensure smooth vehicular movement.Key restrictions:
Entry will be closed for all vehicles heading towards Kapurbawdi from the Ghodbunder-Thane carriageway near Brahmand Signal in Manpada.
Additionally, vehicles will not be allowed to ascend the Manpada bridge near the MG Motors showroom on the same stretch.
Alternative routes:
Motorists travelling towards Kapurbawdi from Brahmand Signal are advised to take a left turn at the junction, proceed via Brahmand Circle and Azad Nagar Road, turn right near Lodha Amara, and continue through Kolshet-Dhokali Road.
Vehicles coming from Ghodbunder Road should use the slip road alongside the Manpada bridge, take a left near the teastall, turn right at Tikujini Wadi Circle onto Nikachod Green Road, and proceed via Mullabag Cut.
The diversions are aimed at facilitating construction work while minimising disruption to traffic.
Exemptions
Emergency and essential service vehicles, including police, fire brigade, ambulances, green corridor and oxygen supply vehicles, will be exempt from the restrictions.
Commuters are advised to plan their travel accordingly and follow instructions issued by traffic authorities.
