Commuters travelling through the Wagle Traffic Sub-Division in Thane should plan their journeys carefully as temporary road restrictions and diversions will be implemented for essential water pipeline work.
The Thane City Traffic Police have announced traffic regulations in connection with road-cutting and pipeline-laying work being undertaken by the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC).
The restrictions will remain in force from 12 midnight on August 30, 2026, until 5 am on August 31, 2026.
According to the traffic notification, temporary restrictions will be imposed on the route connecting Savarkar Nagar and Mahatma Phule Nagar, particularly the stretch between the Kamgar Naka cut and the R.J. Thakur College cut.
The road closure is necessary to allow civic authorities to safely carry out excavation and installation of a new water pipeline.
Motorists using this route during the work period may face restrictions and are advised to follow the alternative routes specified by the traffic police.
Vehicles travelling from Kamgar Naka towards Aaimata Chowk via R.J. Thakur College will not be permitted to enter the restricted section.

Commuters are advised to follow traffic police instructions and allow additional travel time while using the diversion.
Traffic travelling from Vardhan Nagar and Yashodhan Nagar towards Kamgar Naka will also be affected.
Vehicles will be restricted at Aaimata Chowk and directed to take a right turn towards Yashodhan Nagar before continuing towards their destination.
The diversion has been introduced to minimise congestion and maintain traffic flow while the pipeline work is underway.
The traffic restrictions will not apply to emergency and essential service vehicles.
Police vehicles, fire brigade vehicles, ambulances, green corridor vehicles, oxygen supply trucks and other essential-service vehicles will continue to receive uninterrupted access during the work period.
Motorists travelling through the Wagle area during the early hours of August 30 and August 31 should consider using the designated diversion routes and allow extra time for their journey.
The temporary restrictions are expected to remain in place until 5 am on August 31, after which normal traffic movement is expected to resume, subject to the completion of the infrastructure work.
