Instructions were given to the Commissioner to construct a grand 'Umeed' mall in the city, utilizing Rs. 50 crore from central and state government funds, to provide a dedicated marketplace for products made by women's self-help groups.

A fund of Rs. 50 crore has been sanctioned by the state government for a women's hostel in the city, and a suitable location will be finalized soon.

Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde had already sanctioned Rs. 1400 crore for development works and Rs. 900 crore for road repairs in Mira-Bhayandar city, totaling Rs. 2300 crore.

Now, an additional INR 1200 crore for road concreting has been sanctioned by Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde before the election code of conduct comes into effect, and the tender process will begin soon.

This INR 1200 crore fund will be used to accelerate the cement concreting of roads in the city.

The entire Mira-Bhayandar city will be equipped with free Wi-Fi facilities on a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) basis. The tender process for this will be completed in the next 2-3 months.

Minister Pratap Sarnaik said that a review meeting will be held every month at the commissioner level to expedite the work of the municipal administration.
