The central government has approved a 50% increase in LPG quota for states, which Maharashtra will implement under the state government’s guidance, said Thane District Collector Shrikrishna Panchal. This will benefit hotels, restaurants, food processing units, dairy plants, and government-subsidized food centers in Thane and across the state.

Previously, commercial LPG supply was 30% of pre-crisis levels (20% initial quota plus 10% increase). With the new 20% addition, total supply now reaches 50% of normal levels. Priority will also be given to 5 kg FTL cylinders used by migrant laborers.

All commercial and industrial consumers must register with oil companies, which will track usage and service areas. In places with piped gas (PNG), businesses must apply for PNG and show readiness to use it. This move aims to reduce fuel shortages and support smoother operations for industries and businesses.
