"Leave Nothing On The Beach But Footprints"
From now on, you better be careful that the footprints you leave on Versova beach are clean too. After a long and arduous campaign, Versova, one of the dirtiest stretches of shore in the metropolis, is now squeaky clean.

It was lawyer and Versova resident Afroz Shah who spearheaded the initiative in 2015, Along with his motley crowd of 150 volunteers, Shah has managed to clear a whopping 5.3 million kg of trash. The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has awarded Shah the UN's top accolade - Champions of the Earth Award at Mexico. People are celebrating this grand movement on Twitter and the wishes are flowing in from all the corners of the globe for Afroz Shah and his team.

This is not the end of the road for Shah and his team, however. They now plan to target all the dirty beaches in Mumbai and make them visit worthy. While we cheer these good Samaritans, it is now also up to the common Mumbaikar to ensure that she does not throw her litter randomly on the sands so fortuitously granted by Nature to the metropolis.
