Mira-Bhayandar residents will experience a temporary disruption in water supply for 24 hours as the Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has scheduled a suspension of water supplied through the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

According to the civic body, MIDC water supply will remain unavailable from 12 noon on June 4 until 12 noon on June 5. The planned shutdown has been introduced as a precautionary measure amid concerns over potential water scarcity in the coming months due to the anticipated effects of El Niño and the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) weather patterns.

MBMC clarified that water supplied by the STEM Authority will continue without interruption during this period. However, residents may still encounter reduced water pressure and delays in receiving water until the MIDC supply network resumes normal operations.

The municipal corporation has urged citizens to cooperate during the temporary shutdown by storing only the necessary quantity of water and using it responsibly to avoid unnecessary wastage.

Officials have assured residents that efforts will be made to restore normal water distribution as soon as the scheduled maintenance period concludes.
