Water Supply Disrupted in Thane Till September 30 Due to Silt in Riverbed

Due to heavy rainfall in the Bhatsa dam region, a large amount of silt, debris, and tree branches have accumulated in the riverbed near the Thane Municipal Corporation’s Pise pumping station. This has caused difficulties in operating the pumps at full capacity for the past two days. Additionally, the increased turbidity in the water is affecting the purification process, leading to a reduced water supply to the Thane Municipal Corporation area.

As a result, citizens are advised that there will be an irregular and insufficient water supply until Tuesday, September 30.

Efforts are underway on a war footing to remove the silt, debris, and branches from the strainer of the Pise pumping system. Meanwhile, residents are requested to use water sparingly and cooperate with the municipal authorities during this period.
