Residents residing in Workers colony are facing water woes. The inadequate supply of water is posing the huge problem for the residents. Girni Kamgar Sangharsh Samiti's secretary Datta Iswalkar hinted protest to resolve the water supply issue. On the lands of 19 mills, a lottery was conducted in 31 buildings for around 7,000 houses in the year 2012.

On daily basis, residents residing in 19 colonies require 1,90,000 litre water. Whereas residents are receiving only 70,000 - 80,000-litre water which is insufficient. This is the primary reason mill residents are all set for protesting.
