The government has now decided to take the help of technology to solve the problems of the members of 1,20,540 housing societies in Maharashtra. For this, the State Corporation Department has decided to create a portal in collaboration with the State Housing Federation.

According to a senior official of the State Corporations Department, the work of creating the portal will be completed by April. Society members can register their grievances online through the portal. At the same time, people can get information about the action being taken on the complaint online from the comfort of their homes. At present, citizens had to come to the municipal office to register their complaints.

According to the official, due to lack of proper information, many society members used to register complaints at many wrong places. So they get delayed in getting justice.

You will get the right information

Arrangements are also being made to guide people properly on the portal. For this, the rules of the registered housing society will be available on the law portal. Along with this, detailed information about which complaint and where to register will also be available on the portal.

More complaints than MMR

Out of 1,20,540 registered societies in the state, around 35,000 societies are in Mumbai alone. While other societies are located in Thane, Navi Mumbai and Pune. Most of the complaints related to maintenance, society elections, excessive expenditure, dissatisfaction with the society management committee and other reasons are registered only in MMR. For this reason, a committee of members of other housing federations including Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Pune has been formed to create the portal. The portal will be created as per the instructions of the committee.

People can register their complaints online, but they will get justice offline. After registering the complaint online, the concerned parties will be called to the office and their statements will be heard. A decision will be taken after that.

Justice will be served

Around 1000 complaints are registered every month across the state. At the same time lack of proper information and understaffing of the concerned department further adds to the problems of the people. The Federation is creating a portal in collaboration with the administration to solve the problems of the members of the society. This portal will be ready by April. Online process will enable speedy work and people will get speedy justice.
