Mumbai: Worker Dies After Wall Collapses During House Renovation in Ghatkopar

The repair work of a house near Gondia Hall and Gausia Mosque in Narayan Nagar, Ghatkopar, began around 12 noon on Wednesday. At the same time, the wall of the house suddenly collapsed. In that accident, a worker who was trapped under a pile of soil died. The name of the deceased worker is Javed Khan (45).

Repair work was underway on a house near the Ghausiya Mosque. When the workers went to work on Wednesday morning, a part of the wall suddenly collapsed. Worker Javed Aziz Khan was trapped under the debris of the collapsed wall. Citizens tried to pull him out. They also informed the fire department about the accident. After that, the fire department personnel rushed to the spot and started rescue operations. Firefighters pulled out the trapped worker and took him to the nearby Rajawadi Hospital for treatment. However, the doctors declared him dead.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, there were three incidents of house/wall collapse. Also, there were a total of 12 incidents of short circuit and falling trees and branches.

There were 2 incidents of house/wall collapse in 3 places, 1 in the city and 1 in the eastern suburbs. This included the Ghatkopar accident. Meanwhile, a total of 8 short circuit incidents occurred, 3 in the city and 5 in the western suburbs. Also, there were 4 incidents of trees and branches falling, 2 in the city, 1 in the eastern suburbs and 1 in the western suburbs. After verifying the complaints, the work of cutting and removing the branches was carried out by the relevant department.
