Western Railway (WR) and Central Railway (CR) has announced that it will undertake a jumbo block and mega block on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
Western Railway:
The block will be carried out on both the up and down Harbour Lines from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm to facilitate maintenance of engineering, signalling and overhead equipment (OHE).
Several suburban services would be affected during the block.
According to an official statement, the Western Railway said that during the maintenance period, all Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT)-Bandra-CSMT and CSMT/Panvel-Goregaon-CSMT/Panvel Harbour Line services operated by Central Railway will remain cancelled.

In addition, some Churchgate-Goregaon-Churchgate slow local services operated by Western Railway will also be cancelled during the block.
WR said the list of cancelled train services will be available with station masters across the suburban network.
Passengers have been advised to check train schedules in advance and make alternative travel arrangements to avoid inconvenience during the maintenance work.
Central Railway
CR's suburban train services on the Main Line and Harbour Line in Mumbai will remain affected on Sunday, August 9, due a mega block, planned to carry out essential engineering and maintenance works.
According to the railway administration, the block will be undertaken between Matunga and Mulund stations on the Main Line and between CSMT and Chunabhatti/Bandra on the Harbour Line.
Several local train services will be diverted, suspended or delayed during the block period.
On the Main Line, a block will be in place on the UP and DOWN slow lines between Matunga and Mulund from 11.05 am to 3.55 pm.
During this period, DOWN slow line services leaving CSMT between 10.14 am and 3.32 pm will be diverted via the DOWN fast line between Matunga and Mulund, halting at Sion, Kurla, Ghatkopar, Vikhroli, Bhandup and Mulund, before rejoining the slow line.
Similarly, UP slow line services departing Thane between 11.07 am and 3.51 pm will be diverted to the UP fast line between Mulund and Matunga, stopping at Mulund, Bhandup, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla and Sion before returning to the slow line.
CR said all local trains arriving at or departing from CSMT between 11 am and 5 pm are expected to reach their destinations around 15 minutes behind schedule.
On the Harbour Line, a block will be operated between CSMT and Chunabhatti/Bandra on the DOWN line from 11.40 am to 4.40 pm and on the UP line from Chunabhatti/Bandra to CSMT from 11.10 am to 4.10 pm.
As a result, DOWN Harbour Line services from CSMT to Vashi, Belapur and Panvel departing between 11.16 am and 4.47 pm, along with services to Bandra and Goregaon leaving between 10.48 am and 4.43 pm, will remain suspended.
Similarly, UP Harbour Line services towards CSMT from Panvel, Belapur and Vashi between 9.53 am and 3.20 pm, and from Goregaon and Bandra between 10.45 am and 5.13 pm, will also remain suspended.
CR will operate special services between Panvel and Kurla (Platform 8) at 20-minute intervals during the block period for convenience of passengers.
In addition, Harbour Line commuters will be allowed to travel via the Main Line and Western Railway between 10 am and 6 pm.
Officials said that the mega block is necessary to carry out critical maintenance and infrastructure work to ensure the safety and reliability of suburban train operations.
