Indian captain Virat Kohli has decided to postpone the RP-SG Indian Sports Honours Awards, which were supposed to happen on February 16, Saturday, as a mark of respect for the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans who were martyred in the Pulwama terrorist attack.
Indian Sports Honours is a joint initiative by Virat Kohli Foundation and RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group.
On February 14, Thursday, Adil Ahmad, the Jaish-e-Mohammad terrorist behind the attack on security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, rammed his car full of explosives into a security convoy, killing over 40 Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel.
The incident has sparked a wave of sympathy as well as anger amongst the citizens who have been now demanding justice. The sporting community along with Bollywood stars have joined the country in condemning the attack.
The RP-SG Indian Sports Honours that was supposed to happen tomorrow night has been postponed by Virat as a mark of respect to the CRPF jawans who were martyred at Pulwama by a tragic terror attack," the foundation said in a statement.
