Mumbai Indians continues to struggle, losses its third match in the second phase of the IPL

On Sunday evening, September 26, Mumbai Indians (MI) lost its third match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the second phase of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Royal Challengers Bangalore won against Mumbai Indians by 54 runs. The purple cap holder, Harshal Patel, took a hat-trick that helped RCB finish the match early. The game changed when Maxwell and Chahal were handed the ball and they did a phenomenal job with it.

Mumbai Indians started well and lost no wickets till 57 runs but were bowled out by RCB at 111 runs in 18.1 overs. 

Skipper Rohit Sharma made 43 runs off 28 balls highest amongst all the MI players in today's match. Jasprit Bumrah took three wickets and restricted RCB from scoring big, but the middle order of MI failed to help with the chase.

In the post-match presentation, Rohit Sharma praised the bowling unit and added that the batters had let them down. He also mentioned that they need to bounce back.

RCB did not start well with the ball; however, they managed to all-out Mumbai Indians in 18.1 overs and beat them by 54 runs with complete team effort. 

RCB is now on the third spot in the IPL 2021 points table with 12 points, while MI is at the 7th spot with 8 points.
