25-year-old found murdered in Kalyan

In recent developments, on Monday, September 6, the body of a 25-year-old domestic help was found on the street in a plush residential area in Gandhari, Kalyan.

According to reports, the Khadakpada police officers found the husband of the victim missing and suspected that he allegedly murdered her by hitting her head with a rock.

Meanwhile, the officials have reportedly informed that the victim, Lakshmi Mohite, a resident of Savad village in Bhiwandi, came to the locality every day to work in several households. The locals stated that the body was spotted by residents around 10 am, lying in a pool of blood on the side of the road that connects Kalyan city to Titwala. Reports allege that Lakshmi was a victim of domestic abuse wherein her husband would torture her as she refused to live with his first wife. 

On the other hand, a 31- year old Virar resident from Mumbai was stabbed to death on the road on Monday by some unidentified men. The builder identified as Nishant Kadam who is from Phoolpada was going to Shiv temple which is located near Papadkhind dam around 3 AM when he was attacked by them.

It is said that the killers made their escape in the dark. They were hiding behind the tree and when they saw him, they stabbed Kadam with some sharp-edged weapon which killed him on the spot.

During Shrawan, Kadam used to visit the temple every Monday to offer his prayers. This Monday was the last one of Shrawan. Guidelines issued by the government have led to temples being shut, however, there were few Shiv temples that were open up until 7 AM for devotees to offer their prayers.
