Mumbai: Ban on drone flying till June 3

Beefing up security measures, the Mumbai Police has imposed a strict ban on the use of drones and other remote-controlled flying devices across the city till Tuesday, June 3. The ban was imposed by the Police Commissioner of Greater Mumbai.

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has declared Mumbai a 'red zone' for drone operations, making unauthorised drone flights a serious violation. Despite the directive, a 23-year-old man was caught flying a drone in Mumbai's Powai area on Sunday, May 11. After the incident, a case was registered against the man under relevant sections.

Temporary ban on use of firecrackers and firing of rockets till June 9

Mumbai Police has imposed a temporary ban on the use of firecrackers and firing of rockets from May 11 to June 9, 2025. The directive issued by Brihanmumbai Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) Akbar Pathan prohibits people from lighting or throwing any kind of firecrackers or fireworks, including rockets or sky lanterns, within the city limits.
