Govandi police crack senior citizen’s murder case, arrests two

Govandi police have solved the murder case of a senior citizen by arresting two accused. The said incident took place at Govandi.

Deceased 82 years old Parvati Tandel used to stay alone in an area near by Govandi railway station. On 25 March, her granddaughter came to her place to wake her up and found her in injured state instead. She was immediately admitted to hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on 14 April. After investigation and combing operation, police arrested 29-year-old Arvind Deshmukh and 26 years old Santosh Chinchole. Upon investigation, it was revealed that on the day of the murder, they carried out a robbery in a bank and their act was caught on a CCTV. When the accused were shown the CCTV footage, both the accused who at first were denying the murder, committed the crime.

According to police, accused did not find any expensive things in her hut and so they tried getting away with other things. As Tandel started opposing, the accused hit her with the rod, in which she got injured and later succumbed to injuries.
