Jain temple burgled, idols stolen

Vile Parle - Idols of four deities and cash amounting to Rs 75,000 have been allegedly stolen from the Vile Parle Jain temple on Sunday. 78-year-old local resident Devendra Shah told police that he noticed the lock on the temple door had been broken when he visited the temple at 5.30 am on Sunday. The police which found four idols missing and the donation box burgled, have registered an FIR under section 445,446 and 441. As there were no CCTV cameras in the temple, the police are now looking for CCTV footage from cameras in adjacent premises, said senior police inspector Mahadev Nimbalkar.
