Mumbai: 19-Year-Old Drowns in Kurla's Sheetal Talav; Police Probe Cause of Death

A 19-year-old youth drowned in Sheetal Talav near LBS Marg in Kurla on Friday afternoon, prompting a multi-agency rescue operation. The deceased has been identified as Aditya Tayde.

According to officials, the incident occurred at around 12 noon. After receiving information about the drowning, personnel from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Kurla Police and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation rushed to the spot and launched a search operation.

Fire brigade teams initially searched the lake but were unable to locate the youth. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) was subsequently called in, and its personnel conducted an extensive search before recovering Aditya from the water. He was immediately taken to Rajawadi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Police have launched a detailed investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. Officials are examining all possible angles, including whether the death was accidental, a case of suicide or the result of foul play.
