A dispute over playing loud music turned fatal in Mumbai's Vikhroli area after a man allegedly attacked his elder brother's family with a sharp weapon, killing his brother and nephew while injuring two other family members.
The incident took place in the Parksite area of Vikhroli late on the night of Wednesday, August 5, where an argument between the two brothers reportedly escalated into violence. During the attack, the accused allegedly assaulted his elder brother, the brother's wife, and their two sons. The father and one son died from their injuries, while the woman and the younger son sustained serious injuries and were admitted to hospital for treatment.
According to the preliminary police investigation, the altercation began over loud music being played at the residence. However, investigators are also examining whether there were other underlying family disputes that may have contributed to the attack.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the double murder. The accused has been taken into custody, and further inquiries are underway to determine the exact sequence of events and motive behind the crime.
