Kamala Mills Fire update: Police records statement of Mojo’s Bistro owners Tuli and Pathak

Kamala Mills fire incident which took place at 1 Above and Mojo’s Bistro on December 29, 2017, claimed 14 lives. In connection to which, N M Joshi Marg police issued a suo motu notice to Mojo’s Bistro owners Duke Tuli and Yug Pathak to record their statement on Thursday evening. Following the orders, the duo registered their statement late Thursday night.

In a statement, in his defence, Tuli questioned his arrest. He further said, 

I am deeply saddened by the fact that a lot of people lost their lives. I am cooperating with police and have submitted all necessary documents and licenses to the police. I am not using any political influence to evade the enquiry.”

Along with Duke Tuli, police also recorded the statement of Yug Pathak. This was done after four hours of interrogation. Post Kamala Mills fire incident, the civic body demolished illegal structures and also filed a complaint against the same. Likewise, police filed a complaint against the owners of Mojo’s Bistro under MRTP act.

After the dreadful incident, owners Tuli and Pathak were summoned by police but they kept avoiding until police issued the suo motu notice.
