The Maharashtra Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered 392 corruption trap cases across the state between January and June this year, marking an increase compared to the corresponding period last year. According to the ACB's latest statistics, officials from the Revenue and Land Records Department accounted for the highest number of trap cases, followed by personnel from the Police Department, Panchayat Samitis and the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL).
In these 392 cases, the ACB booked 566 individuals, including 93 private persons. Class III government employees formed the largest group among those caught in corruption traps, followed by officials from Class II, Class I and Class IV categories.
The total bribe amount involved in the 392 trap cases stood at approximately Rs 2.07 crore.

The Revenue and Land Records Department recorded the highest number of trap cases at 99, accounting for over one-fourth of the total cases registered during the six-month period.

Apart from the trap cases, the ACB has registered one disproportionate assets case so far this year. The case involves a CIDCO official who has been booked for allegedly possessing assets disproportionate to known sources of income, with the value of the assets estimated at Rs 1.94 crore.
