Fugitive and infamous gangster, Guru Satam has been fleeing the police for the past 30 years. However, it seems that his run might come to an end soon, as one of his close aides, Kevin Nair has been arrested from Kerala. Earlier, five members of the Satam gang, Rajesh Ambre alias Bhai, Amol Shankar Vichare, Bipin Balram Dhotre, Deepak Jayantilal Lodhiya alias Soni alias Rajesh, and Bharat Pradeep Solanki alias Anwar, were arrested by Mumbai Police.

It is being said that one of the gang members, Bipin Dhotre, would regularly send the money extorted from India to Kevin who had been hiding in Hong Kong and was responsible for handling finance for Guru Satam. Thinking that the matter in India had been passive, Kevin flew from Hong Kong to Kerala, where he was arrested by the police.

After Kevin's arrest, Mumbai and the surrounding areas have been alerted and upon investigation, it was learned that Satam is currently taking refuge in South Africa.

The entire matter came to light after Satam who was once a close aide to Chhota Rajan became active in the criminal activities in Mumbai. A businessman who was being harassed by him filed a complaint with the Mumbai Police. After which, the police nabbed Rajesh Ambre alias Bhai, Amol Shankar Vichare, Bipin Balram Dhotre, Deepak Jayantilal Lodhiya alias Soni alias Rajesh, and Bharat Pradeep Solanki alias Anwar in July 2018.

Officers also learned that Kevin was hiding in Hong Kong and a Look Out Circular (LOC) was issued against him. He had changed his name and used a forged passport.

As soon as the police received the information about Kevin's departure from Hong Kong, they asked the Trivandrum Police to be alert and check everyone at the airport. When he arrived with another passport, the police did not suspect him but upon verification, it was deduced that all the other details except for his passport information matched.

The police have kept him locked at the Crime Branch and soon he will be thoroughly investigated. Meanwhile, now the next target for the police would be Guru Satam who will be under their radar.
