Psychologist Arrested In South Mumbai By NCB For Baking And Selling Drugs-Blended Brownies

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on Monday cracked a drug chain wherein cakes and brownies were baked with narcotic drugs. These were then allegedly supplied to rave parties by the perpetrators. The officials arrested two individuals in the said regard.

Sameer Wankhede, Zonal Director of the NCB in Mumbai, received a cue upon which, he decided to raid a bakery that also acted as a residence in South Mumbai's Mazgaon on Monday. Post intense checks and substantiation, 10 kg of hashish brownie cakes were found ready for delivery. The accused is identified as Rahmeen Charaniya, was also arrested.

The establishment was operated by a 25-year-old Rahmeen Charaniya, a professional psychologist. Sources also claim that not only does he work with an eminent hospital in South Mumbai, but he has been in the drug arena since college.

Wankhede mentioned that the accused would supply a range of cakes, one of which was called the Rainbow cake comprising of hashish, ganja, and charas. Apart from this, hashish brownies and pot brownies blended with weed were also supplied by him. Moreover, the authorities got their hands on 350 grams of opium and Rs 1.7 lakh worth of cash on the premises.

During interrogation, the accused mentioned that he was inspired by watching OTT-based international series about drug trafficking. He would make the deliveries himself through the orders he received on social media. His patronage was based in the south and west Mumbai. He also furnished details about his supplier, Ramzan Shaikh, a 40-year-old who was nabbed with 50 grams of hashish from Crawford market.

This operation is amongst the list of many conducted by the NCB to bring down the drug nexus.
