The police on Saturday arrested a stepfather for sexually assaulting a twelve-year-old girl in Goregaon. A case has been registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses and Rape Act.
Twenty-seven-year-old accused is unemployed and his wife goes to work. On Saturday, when the accused's wife went to work, he assaulted his stepdaughter at their residence. After the mother came back, the victim girl told the incident to her mother. After that, the woman immediately lodged a complaint in the police station.

Accordingly, the police registered a case under the Rape and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act on Saturday night. Then on Saturday midnight, the accused father was arrested by the police. The victim girl has been medically examined in a government hospital.
