Taxi driver attacked lethally

Three men masquerading as passengers attacked a taxi driver lethally with a knife causing severe injury to his hands, ears, and stomach. The Sion Police have thus filed a FIR against the three unknown culprits.

The incident is of Sunday sometime during the morning when Mohammed Shakeel Nehruddin Kurse (35) like on any other day, went out to start his day. He parked his taxi near the three-stemmed pole in Thane, waiting for some passenger to hire his taxi for a ride. Turns out three men were already standing at the spot and then hired him for driving them from Thane to Grant Road and then return to Thane for 1000 bucks. Further, the cab was speeding across the Sion-Panvel highway when one of the passengers on reaching Vikhroli Highway asked to stop the cab since he had to go to the toilet.

Sometime later, the passengers attacked the cab driver lethally attached the driver because of some argument. The three men after attacking the driver simply fled the spot. On the other hand, Mohammed Kureshi has been admitted to Sion Hospital where his condition is stable.
