Two Days After Gadchiroli Encounter, Body Of Naxal Commander Found

According to a senior MHA official, two days after an encounter in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli, the body of Sukhlal Parchaki who was 33 years old and was Naxal commander has been found at the encounter site, reported ANI.

Based on reports, he was carrying a reward of INR 25 lakhs, with this update, the number of Naxals killed in the encounter reaches 27. 

Earlier on Saturday, November 12, at least 26 Maoists were killed in a police encounter in the Gadchiroli district, which is over 900 km from Mumbai.

Among those who succumbed, include top Maoist leader Milind Teltumbde, his bodyguards - a man and a woman - are also believed to have been shot dead.

Based on accounts, police stated that Teltumbde was spearheading the Maoist's Maharashtra Madhya Pradesh Chhattisgarh (MMC) zone.

Anti-Maoist C-60 commandoes teams of sixteen that included over 500 personnel conducted a monumental security drive that began on Saturday at 6 am and ended by 4 pm, claimed reports.

This is believed to have been one of the biggest encounters in recent years in Gadchiroli's forests, where four police personnel were also injured.
