Mumbai: UP tourism department official jumps from building, dies

A top official in Uttar Pradesh’s tourism department allegedly jumped off a building in Mumbai and died, police said. 

Recently, Vimlesh Kumar was posted as a Deputy Director in the tourist department and was transferred from Lucknow to Mumbai.

In Mumbai’s Tilak Nagar, the official jumped from his building's second floor at around 8:00 am, the police said. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but doctors declared him dead. 

Two months ago he had resigned but was told to work till the end of March by the department's Lucknow office. According to the Press Trust of India,  the man jumped from the building due to work pressure, quoting the police.
