The widow of the man killed in the Vidyavihar crash on February 5 has filed a plea in Mumbai court seeking to cancel the bail granted to the 17-year-old driver involved, as per the report by Hindustan Times.

She contends that the Juvenile Justice Board erred in granting bail on March 6, overlooking evidence of the minor’s reckless driving history and posts showing dangerous stunts on social media. She argued that the incident is a serious offence and not a routine accident, and that the minor’s past behavior indicates a disregard for public safety.

The plea also alleges that the teenager deleted his Instagram account during the investigation, potentially to remove evidence, and highlighted an alleged INR 40 lakh offer made to the family as an attempt to influence the case.

The woman has requested the court either cancel the bail or impose stricter conditions, ensuring the minor remains in an observation home until the trial concludes.

The crash involved the minor colliding with the couple’s scooter, leaving both critically injured. The husband later died, leading to more severe charges against the teenager.
