Coolie rapes 55-year-old woman at Mumbai's Bandra station

A woman was raped at Bandra Terminus in Mumbai. In this case, Railway Police have arrested one attacker after checking the CCTV footage. The attacker has been arrested on the charge of raping a 55-year-old woman. This incident happened on Saturday. Railway police took this action.

What exactly happened?

A 55-year-old woman came to Mumbai by train from Haridwar. Her train reached Bandra Terminus on Saturday night. The woman was sleeping alone in an empty train coach. Taking advantage of this, an assailant raped this 55-year-old woman. The woman's relatives lodged a complaint with the railway police after getting information about the incident. After which the police traced the accused on the basis of CCTV footage and arrested him. The police have also ordered to check why there was no security guard at this place.

What exactly did the police officer say?

An official told Indian Express that the victim had come to Mumbai from Haridwar. She came to Mumbai with her relatives. But after the train stopped in Mumbai, her relative who came with the woman went out for some work. At that time other passengers were also in the train, but one by one they all got off. This woman also got down on the platform. She took a nap on the platform. Realising that she was sleepy, the woman went to a nearby empty train and slept there. A porter who was observing all of this went to the compartment where the woman was sleeping and raped the woman. 

How exactly did the police arrest the accused?

When her relative came back, the porter was startled. Both the woman and her relative reached the Railway Security Force office and told the railway police about the entire incident. After which the police checked the CCTV footage and arrested the porter. According to the police, the accused lives on the footpath. In this case, the accused was also produced in the court. The court sent him to police custody.
