Netflix announces documentary 'Cricket Fever: Mumbai Indians'; Premieres on March 1

In what can be considered as great news for cricket fans all over the country, Netflix announced its first documentary about Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians. The documentary Cricket Fever: Mumbai Indians, will be an eight-part docu-series which will follow the Mumbai Indians team on the road through the course of the 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) season, in which they sought to defend their 2017 IPL crown.

Produced by Condé Nast Entertainment, the documentary captures the unseen action, both on and off the field, beginning with the 2018 IPL auction, when the entire team was re-organised and will conclude with the end of their IPL campaign. Al Edgington, Joe LaBracio, Jeremy Finn, Jamie Stewart, and James Maby are the executive producers.

The docu-series is expected to document highly personal and never-seen-before journey of the team and its players, including the never-ending pressure they are bound to face because of their supporters' expectations.

Currently, Rohit Sharma is the captain of Mumbai Indians, under the guidance of coach, Sri Lankan batsman Mahela Jayawardene. The team is owned by Mukesh Ambani's wife Nita Ambani and son Akash Ambani.
