Students in Maharashtra will soon be able to access their university degree certificates digitally before their convocation ceremonies, following a new decision announced by Higher and Technical Education Minister Chandrakant Patil.

Under the initiative, degree certificates will be made available on the government’s DigiLocker platform in advance, allowing students to download and use them for jobs or further studies without waiting for the official convocation.

The move is aimed at reducing delays in obtaining physical certificates and ensuring quicker access to verified academic documents. Officials said this will particularly benefit students applying for employment or higher education, where timely submission of degree proof is crucial.

Universities across the state will be required to upload verified certificates to the digital platform, making the process more efficient, transparent, and accessible.
