Maharashtra: ITI admissions are currently underway

In recent developments, the Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET) announced the first merit list for aspirants interested in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).

According to reports, 68 per cent of seats across government add private ITIs have been allotted in the first round itself. Once again, applications for government institutes is higher and this shows in allotment statistics as well.

The DVET further shared that there are 417 government-funded and 559 private ITIs in Maharashtra. This takes the total intake capacity of the institutes to 1.33 lakh, which includes 92,311 seats in government institutions and 53,948 seats in private institutions.

On the other hand, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday, September 8, said that it now plans to set up a Cambridge-affiliated school, which is expected to start admissions from next year. Mumbai guardian minister Aaditya Thackeray made this announcement and said the civic body will hold meetings with the board and look at starting at least one school by June next year.

Thackeray also said that BMC aims to have one school affiliated with the Cambridge Board in each of the 24 administrative wards in the city. This comes after Aaditya Thackeray along with Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar chaired a meeting to examine the possibility of launching a Cambridge-affiliated Municipal School in Mumbai.
