Learning Disability (LD) is a neurological based processing problem which may affect a student's performance in his studies. It may be of various types i.e. dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, etc. Student's with LD are provided with various facilities and their papers are checked differently. They can have a writer who is younger to them to write the examination on their behalf, however, getting a writer is very difficult.

As stated in Hindustan Times, In a first of its kind case, Kshitij Raimane, a second-year Masters of Computer Application student of Navinchandra Mehta Institute of Technology and Development (NIMTD) in Dadar has got permission to write his exam on the computer rather than the traditional exam paper. Raimane has dysgraphia i.e. the inability to write coherently and is more comfortable writing on the computer than on paper. His mother had requested the authorities to provide him with the facility after observing that his marks were deteriorating. She said that as its a postgraduate program, the syllabus is vast and as he was unable to get a writer, he should be allowed to write his examination on the computer as his handwriting on paper is illegible.
This move has certainly paved a path of new facilities for students with disability.
